Central Venous Catheter (CVC) Insertion Course

This half-day course is delivered by SCGH specialists from Anaesthesia, Intensive Care, Renal Medicine, and Emergency Medicine.

The program covers:

  • Relevant anatomy
  • Common pitfalls and troubleshooting
  • Types of central lines available

Participants will engage in hands-on stations focusing on:

  • Needling techniques using ultrasound and landmark approaches
  • Securing lines
  • Femoral lines
  • Vascular catheters
  • Ultrasound techniques

Important: Proficiency in ultrasound cannulation is essential for successful completion of the CVC course. If you wish to improve your ultrasound skills beforehand, consider enrolling in the Ultrasound IVC Course.


Eligibility

  • Open to RMO level and above across all medical specialties
  • Senior nursing staff (CNS, Nurse Practitioners, etc.) currently working in ICU, ED, or Vascular Access roles within the hospital
