Readiness for the Initial Assessment Anaesthesia Competency Training (RIAACT)

This three-day course for Anaesthetic Trainees is shared amongst Royal Perth Hospital, Fiona Stanley Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. It is open to Introductory Anaesthesia Trainees on the WA Anaesthesia Rotational Scheme. Participants will enhance their skills in managing anaesthetic crises through interactive tutorials and immersive simulations.

Topics include:

– Crisis Resource Management
– ANZCA Standards of Monitoring
– Intra-hospital transfers and remote anaesthesia
– Management of anaesthetic emergencies including arrhythmias, high airway pressures, bronchospasm, laryngospasm, critical hyper/hypotension
– Workload management
