Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and Extra Corporeal Life Support (ECLS) are increasingly used in Intensive Care and Emergency Departments for advanced cardio-respiratory support. These therapies are reserved for critically ill patients in severe respiratory failure, cardiogenic shock, or cardiac arrest where conventional resuscitation has failed.
Managing these complex patients requires a deep understanding of ECLS mechanisms and their physiological impact.
The SCGH ECMO Course is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of Intensivists, Cardiac Anaesthetists, Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Perfusionists, and ICU Nurses. It is designed for doctors, nurses, and perfusionists involved in ECLS management.
